practice focuses on the insurance and financial services industries. We
have both the resources and experience to support transactions from $10
million to $1 billion. Over the years, the members of the firm have
been involved in over 25 transactions from both the buy and the sell
side, with transaction values totaling in excess of $3.5 billion.

Property & Casualty, Life and Health insurance practice areas, as
well as providing due diligence and valuation support for non-insurance
industries. Our team of consultants has broad international
experience with projects involving US, Canadian, European,
Latin American and Australian clients.
A few sample M&A engagements
that members of MBA have participated in include:
• Actuarial valuation of an
insurance company joint venture on behalf of one of Mexico’s largest
financial groups and its U.S. partner, Aetna International. Successful
transaction valued in excess of $550 million USD.
• Due diligence support and
valuation of worker’s compensation, auto and general liability reserve
levels for a US self insurer in conjunction with a potential sale to a
P&C insurance company.
• Actuarial valuation and sale
support for successful bancassurance joint venture between a large
Mexican bank and a US insurance group. Successful transaction valued in
excess of $300 million USD.
• Due diligence support and
valuation of workers compensation reserving levels for various target
companies on behalf of a large US health insurer.
• Actuarial valuation and support
of the
sale to a European investor of an equity stake in the insurance
arm of one of Colombia’s largest financial groups. Work performed
consisted of an appraisal of individual life and annuity operations and
a reserve analysis for P&C and group life lines.
• Due diligence support and full
appraisal on behalf of MetLife for one of Chile’s leading annuity
writers and life insurance companies. Successful transaction valued at
$250 million USD.
