Peter A. Bennett
graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1979 with a degree in
mathematics. From 1979 to 1991, Mr. Bennett worked at the Crum &
Forster insurance Company, first as an Actuarial Analyst in the Private
Passenger Auto unit and eventually as Actuarial Programming Manager.
As Actuarial Programming Manager, Mr.
Bennett's duties included developing mainframe applications for
personal lines ratemaking, primarily in the PL/I and SAS languages-,
generating reports on a special request basis; training and Supporting
members of the actuarial department in computer use; personal computer
applications in XBase, Prolog, Pascal and Lotus; development of
actuarial programming personnel. Major projects included an on-line
interactive private passenger ratemaking system, workers' compensation
pension database and formula reserve evaluation system, demographic,
premium, loss and marketing databases.
In 1985 and concurrently with working
at Crum and Forster, Mr. Bennett began working as a consultant with MBA
Inc. Duties at MBA included developing an XBase claims database for a
client insurance company; writing a loss development spreadsheet,
specifying, purchasing and supporting all computers, peripherals and
software- network installation and administration for MBA; and data
management. Mr. Bennett divided his time between MBA and Crum &
Forster until 1991 when he began devoting full time to MBA.
Computer languages Mr. Bennett has
had experience with include: SAS, PL/l, Basic, Prolog, Lisp, C, Pascal,
Visual FoxPro, Delphi and Visual Studio.net.
During this period Mr. Bennett passed
four CAS actuarial exams and earned an MBA degree from the Stern School
of Business at New York University. He is currently completing an MS in
computer science at Rutgers University.
Mr. Bennett lives in Boonton, New
Jersey.
